The perfect getaway for couples

Pachamama Retreat is about:

1- Simple living. Sleeping in a luxurious queen bed in a tent, while listening the waves breaking; gathering fruit, vegetables and shells; walking along the lovely beach in the early morning and watching the rise from behind the Hazard ranges; seeing the colours change in the late afternoon whilst enjoying a glass of wine; appreciating the beauty of Freycinet National Park and the diversity of bird life at Moulting Lagoon; drawing water from a traditional water well and going out to sea in a kayak to catch fish. There are some of the experiences that Pachamama Retreat offers.

2- Connection. With yourself, ‘Mother Earth’ (Pachamama) and other people. A sense of belonging and community.

3- Sustainability. Protecting the environment and people in our community. Pachamama Retreat applies permaculture principles and we practise a ‘zero wastage’ policy. We try to recycle everything and to minimise the use of anything that can damage the environment.

Introduction

Pachamama Retreat offers unique beach front glamping accommodation (king bed) & aspires to improve people’s wellbeing. Located at the Great Oyster Bay with 15 kilometres beach in East Coast Tasmania, overlooking the iconic Freycinet Peninsula & Hazards, Schouten & Maria Islands and 2 km from the international recognised Moulting Lagoon Game Reserve; this 5 acre’s property is the ideal place for relaxation, contemplate fauna, flora, culture and enjoy unique ecosystem & landscape.  Delicious food & wine are only minutes away.

A spacious Bell Tent with a king size bed is offered for you to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing and romantic night, while listening to the waves breaking. The deck is a perfect platform to enjoy the sunshine while lying in the hammock and reading a book or sitting in a comfy bean bag and watching the local birds, which come in abundance in the morning. Sitting on the deck, and listening to birdsong while having breakfast, is a perfect way to start your day, before going for a walk on 15 kilometres remote beach in stunning Great Oyster Bay.

Amenities

Pachamama Retreat has an environmentally-friendly approach and advocates a self-sufficient and sustainable living system by applying permaculture and particular life principles that are important to me.

Pachamama Retreat’s unique experience is based on four aspects:

-a stunning 15 km beach located just 20m away, where you might see dolphins, whales and other wildlife. It has beautiful views of two islands and The Hazards in Freycinet National Park.

-luxury king-size beds under 5m bell tents

-staff hospitality – our aim is to make you feel at home

-sharing life principles and philosophies with you.

Pachamama has shared bathroom and kitchen facilities (‘The Community Room’). The cosy lounge/dining area is furnished with a comfortable queen-size sofa and crafted wood heater fireplace. It is decorated with artwork, musical instruments and souvenirs from all around the world, including bongo drums, a guitar, harmonica, piano and Andean instruments. There is no WI-FI or TV; instead there are both indoor and outdoor game boxes for you to use and have fun and connect with your loved ones and other likeminded people.

The modern, fully-equipped kitchen includes an indoor and an outdoor cooking gas area with BBQ facilities, fridge/freezer, sandwich press, kettle and toaster, and everything else you need.  The Community Room has two showers/bathrooms and a separate composting toilet. There is an additional outdoors composting toilet.

Pachamama is not about offering luxury infrastructure; it is about ‘Simple Living’ and creating a community of positive people.

I hope you share my vision and that you enjoy your stay. I look forward to providing you a unique experience and the chance ‘To connect with Mind, Body and Soul and, for a moment, to live the present’.

Reviews

Heaven and that is an understatement!

We booked Pachamama retreat for 2 nights. We wished we had skipped the next stop and stayed here 3 nights.

Pachamama is an amazing place. Quiet, right on a very quiet beach with excellent hosts. Alex started this retreat after travelling around the world a few years ago ( I will not tell his life story as I will leave this up to him as there have to be some surprises too).

This is a place where you want to stay to get away from things. Bring your own food so you can eat what you want and when you want to eat it. We met some great like-minded people. Great talks, laughs and music till late at night. Time was 'flying' away.

Alex started recently his Eco boat tours too on Moulting Lagoon. I highly recommend joining him on the sunset tour. It will take your breath away! We noticed that a lot of people only stay for 1 night at Pachamama. To appreciate this amazing location and experience true Tasmania, you need at least 2 nights in my opinion. If you don't have the time for this, then 1 night is still better than nothing.

Looking for the true spirit and beauty of Tasmania? Then you cannot skip Pachamama Retreat! Alex, best of luck and will cherish every moment we've spent here. p.s excellent glamping tents with perfect beds!“

‘This place is s unique and wonderful’.

Alexis we loved your style. This place is s unique and wonderful. Thank you for being such a great host. We are inspired by your outlook in life. I hope the garden really takes off. We will be sad we are not going to be around to see it. Thank for sharing everything with us and we will be sure to come back next time we are in Tasmania.

‘It is a beautiful and serene little corner of the earth’

Thank you for the wonderful stay at Pachamama Alexis. It is a beautiful and serene little corner of the earth and so happy that you would share it with us. The beach is literally on our doorstep with 15km to enjoy the views of Freycinet across the bay, stunning! Alexis is an amazing host. Watching him jam on the bongos with my best friend was simply a delight. If you want a community feeling and just get back to basics, this is the place. Thank you Alexis you are a kind a generous soul. We loved it here!
